Grammar:

For the grammar section of the test, students should review their
Grammar quizzes, review worksheets and Enter the World of Grammar 2
textbook. The areas to be
tested are:

10% Creative Writing:
Students must
write a personal narrative consisting of 3–4 paragraphs. They
will be given two topics to choose from. The introduction must include a hook
and a thesis statement. The body of the essay should include descriptions of
personal experiences and examples that relate to the chosen topic. Essays will
be graded based on content, organization, grammar, and creativity. Students
must not exceed the word limit.
40% Reading (30% Journey’s,
10% unseen)
Students will read
a short passage and answer questions based on the text. Students will be graded
on comprehension skills, spelling and grammar. Students will also be tested on
Soft Cover Journey’s

tested on a selection of vocabulary words taught from L22-L30. A word bank will
be provided from which students choose a suitable word to complete sentences.
