Overview of Week 11

 Hi parents

English exams are next week. I have already posted the blank review sheets on my blog. I will give out the answers in class on Monday and Tuesday. I will also post the answers on my blog for the people who are absent. 

This week for Journeys we read a story about John Muir. He started the Sierra Club and became a tour guide for the Yosemite National Park. 

For science, we finished the rest of adaptations and did the self-check.

For math, we finished up volume word problems.

For grammar, we started and finished question tags. This was a short chapter. 

For creative writing, we wrote an essay about our moms for Mother's Day. 

I have sent all the books back. Please have them bring the review sheets back on Monday completed.

Overview of Week 10

 Hi parents,

For creative writing this week, we wrote about who inspires us. They wrote really great essays.

For science, we continued on with adaptations. We will finish this by next Friday.

For math, we almost finished all of the math curriculum for test 2. We only have one more problem to go.

For Journeys, we read about traveling out west because the government was offering them free land.

For grammar, we finished with possessives and had a quiz.

Overview of week 9

 Hi parents,

This week for creative writing we practiced for the KET exam. We did two short essays, which is what the KET exam asks for. Some students forgot to invite their friend to go camping in their letters.

In science, we continued along with adaptations. Test 2 will only be on adaptations.

In math, we started on volume. Some students tell me they are learning this in Chinese class as well.

In grammar, we had our modals II quiz on Monday. We started learning about possessive pronouns.

In Journeys, we read about cattle ranches and how they had to do cattle drives to Abilene.

Creative Writing for 4/13 for class 502 (some people wrote random stuff)

  You need to write two essays. Each essay has to be between 35- 45 words. This is practice for the KET exam. 

The first essay is an email. Make sure it has this format. Follow the instructions on the PPT picture.

The second essay you have to use the pictures to write an essay. Between 35-45 words. Make sure you give the characters names and a creative title.

 Hi parents

Glad to have met everyone at PTC.

We skipped creative writing this week because of the four day week.

For Journeys in 501 class, we read about a Native American's encounter with a bear. 

For Journeys in 502 class, we read about a Native American's experience with elk dogs.

For math, we started on area of rhombus' and area of parallelograms.

We didn't have science this week because of drama.

For grammar, we finished with Modals II and we are having a quiz on Monday.

Please make sure all signed English exams are returned to me.

We skipped creative writing this week because of the short week.

For science, we started on adaptations. This is a long chapter. Test 2 will only cover this chapter.

For math, we started with area of triangles. Finding the height is very tricky for them.

For grammar, we started on Modals II. This is similar to Modals I.

For journeys, we read about the gold rush in 1849.
