Overview of Week 13

 Hi parents

I have sent back English exams to be corrected and signed. I will send back the math and science exams on Monday.

This week we reviewed for our exams with the worksheets and review games. I started next week's vocabulary, so that they will have time to study for Chinese next week. Most of them have finished their vocabulary homework in class.

I have also started the new unit in science, Invertebrates.

Peace

Overview of Week 12

 Hi parents

For creative writing this week, we wrote out essay on goals and why they're important. This was done in the leadership folder.

For grammar, we took the quiz on question words.

For Journeys, we read a story about the American Revolution and one man's journey. He helped the Patriots by stealing a boat.

For science we reviewed Diseases and Injuries and I passed out the review worksheet in class. I will give out the answers on Monday.

For math we started the lesson on fractions. They already know most of this from Chinese math.

Overview of Week 11

 Hi parents,

I have given out the Test Scopes for Exam 2 in their Communication Books.

For creative writing, we wrote an essay about someone who influences us. We tied it to the story, The Giving Tree. They watched a video of that and we discussed the significance of the tree.

For science, we finished with Cells and did the self check.

For math, we finished with 4 sided figures. We learned how to figure out angles inside rhombuses, parallelograms and trapezoids.

For grammar, we started the unit on Question Words. This was relatively easy for them. We also had to identify subject and object.

For Journeys, we read about the decline and rise of the bison population in the 1800s. This was a straightforward story and easy to comprehend.

Peace

Overview of week 10

 Hi parents,

For Journeys in 501, we ventured out into the sea and discussed what it takes to become a member of a rescue crew. The main character wanted to be one, but his friends and dad was against the idea.

For Journeys in 502, we discussed modern day sea rescue. For example: helicopters, ambulances and boats. This was one of the more exciting stories.

For science, we finished self check for Disease and Injury. We started the chapter on Cells.

For math, we started the lesson on isosceles and equilateral triangles. This was super easy.

For creative writing, we wrote a letter thanking an important person close to us.

For grammar, we finished adverbs and had a quiz on it.
