Overview of Week 9

Hi parents!

For science, we finished up diseases and injuries. We did the 10 self check questions and will be going to Cells next week.

For math, we did the angle measures of triangles. This is easy for them. They said they learned this in Chinese math.

For creative writing, we wrote about our greatest fear along with using different types of sentences.

For grammar, we started learning about adverbs. There are 4 types. There will be a grammar quiz next week.

For reading, we read about an oil spill in Alaska. We learned what goes into the cleanup and why we must all contribute to helping mother earth. Responsibility was a major theme in this story.

Peace

Mr. Richard

Comm Book Printout for Week 9

Storytown Festival To Parents

Overview of week 8

 Hi parents!

We skipped Creative Writing this week because of the field trip and the Chinese exams.

For math, we started the lesson on unknown measures of angles. Everyone said they learned this in Chinese math already.

For science, we continued on with Diseases and Injuries. We finished with the diseases and are diving into first aid.

For Journeys in 502, we read about a boy who didn't want to move to the country. His parents were tired of living such a frantic life.

For Journeys in 501, we read about a dog saving a child's life. The older brother came to appreciate the dog.

For grammar, we finished Comparatives and Superlatives. We will be having a quiz on it on Monday.

Here are some highlights from this week. Thank you to Danny for introducing Sofia as our LJ Angel.

Overview of Week 7

Hi parents, please return all tests to me ASAP.

For creative writing this week, we wrote about our Perfect Thanksgiving Dinner. It is a bit early for Thanksgiving, but we needed to do it for the school bulletin board. This essay was concrete and they all did well.

For math, we started the lesson on angles. This lesson required the use of protractors. They won't need any protractors for the big exam.

For Journeys, we read a story about the American chestnut tree and how it struggled to survive against a fungus.

In grammar, we started the lesson on comparatives and superlatives. They already know this, so this is just a review. They will have a quiz on it next next Monday.

In science, we started Lesson 3, Diseases and Injuries.

There is a field trip next week.

Peace!

Mr. Richard

Overview of week 6

 Hi parents!

I will be giving back all of the tests on Tuesday. Please ensure they are all SIGNED and CORRECTED by Thursday.

This week was a short week because of Double Ten Day and the ENG exams.

In reading, we continued with our novel book and novel questions. For 502 class I did chapter 8 with them in class, so they only need to read ch 9 and do the questions for that chapter.

In grammar, we did the extra practice exercises in the Revision section to help them prepare for grammar.

In math and science, we played a science game and went over the difficult parts of science.

Peace!

Mr. Richard
